In March, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Austin, Texas to visit different agencies and brands. My first trip to Texas did NOT dissapoint!

We had the pleasure of meeting Lisa and Tom Perini at the Perini Ranch in Buffalo Gap, Texas. We got to learn how their Ranch turned to a delicious, inviting steakhouse that customers travel near and far for. It was awesome to hear how Perini became this must-try destination. Not only did we get to hear their incredible story, but Lisa, Tom, and their team spoiled us with the most mouthwatering food!

McGarrah Jesse is a full-service agency in Austin, TX. On the second day of our trip, we spent it doing a sprint session. The McJ team gave us a brief, and we worked in teams to create potential solutions to a REAL problem the agency is facing. After researching, conducting in-field research, and building out some creative ideas, we were able to present to the McJ team. It was amazing to hear their feedback and their take on how they’re handling the problem.

Next, we visited Preacher, a full service creative company. During our time, we got to hear more about agency life and the intriguing, out-of-the-box content that Preacher is producing. This session was eye-opening as to what working for an agency can be like.

Our last stop was to Yeti. Aside from being gifted Clemson Yeti cups, it was pretty cool. We heard from employees on how they run their in-house agency and branding. My favorite aspect of this stop was hearing in-depth how they created one of their best campaigns, Rescue Red.

Our first stop of the day was to the Texas Stars arena, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate to the Dallas Stars. It was inspiring to hear from their team on how they attract fans and give back to their community.
